If we want to reimagine this relationship, where better to start than the built systems that last for decades and support our most fundamental activities? We can learn from nature and create infrastructure that benefits individuals and communities, strengthens economies and supports collective care and wellbeing. At bedari collective, we call this Regenerative Infrastructure - and our mission is to prove it is possible. Regenerative is the next frontier. Next-generation infrastructure must be designed for dynamic and multi-dimensional outcomes. The bedari collective aims to push beyond sustainability by promoting a deeper, holistic way of looking at built systems - one that mutually reinforces progress for people and the planet by not only supporting human activities but also contributing to the restoration and enhancement of ecosystems and communities. Unlike traditional infrastructure, which often focuses solely on meeting human needs with minimal consideration for environmental impact, Regenerative Infrastructure seeks to create positive synergies between human wellbeing, ecological health, and collective progress. We are at the beginning of this journey. We are ambitious for outcomes but pragmatic about the road ahead. Our initial focus will be on the systems and sectors which have the highest potential to adopt regenerative practices today - such as energy, agriculture, and water - where we will bring a flexible range of impact-focused tools, including venture investment, public-private partnerships, grants, and more.
