Befrienders KL

Our Vision : A world in which fewer people feel the need to end their own lives. Our Mission: To alleviate distress and help reduce the risk of suicide through emotional support and public education. Befrienders is a not-for-profit organisation providing emotional support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to people who are lonely, in distress, in despair, and having suicidal thoughts - without charge. We are multi-racial, non-religious and are available to everyone, regardless of race, religion, age, gender or sexual orientation. The service that the Befrienders offer is called befriending. Befrienders aims to benefit society by helping people who contact us to develop better emotional self-awareness which in turns leads to improved emotional health and well-being. Outreach: Befrienders KL reaches out to the community, particularly to groups at high risk of suicide to provide on-site emotional support, talks, workshop sessions and seminars on listening skills, depression and stress, suicide prevention and mental health awareness.
