We at LAGOM, strive to normalize the concept by re-framing how psychiatric illness among HCWs is viewed, that it should be treated with the gravity as we do any other medical condition, and not as a character flaw or a sign of weakness. Lagom, a Swedish word that means- not too less, not too much, just in the right amount, and it has been crucial in defining what we want to strive for. Our organization aims to adopt the very essence of Lagom into the chaotic midst of the mental health situation amongst healthcare workers. It's a common understanding that the phrase 'mental health' often connotes stigma and prejudice, especially when healthcare workers themselves struggle with it. However, We at LAGOM, strive to normalize the concept by re-framing how mental illness is viewed, that it should be treated with the gravity as we do any other medical condition, and not as a character flaw.
