Belarusian Helsinki Committee

The Belarusian Helsinki Committee (BHC) is an independent, non-political, non-profit civic association founded in 1995 in Belarus. BHC is one of the oldest human rights organizations dealing with both civil and political, and social, economic, and cultural rights. BHC has consultative status with the UN ECOSOC (since July 2022). BHC's main objective is creating a civic context, in which citizens, businesses and the government would realize that a comfortable and convenient living environment in the country may only be established through active participation and collaboration of all actors. Thus, the Committee promotes human rights as a paramount element of economic and human development.
