About Belltree Music Therapy
We offer a different way of accessing emotional support. Our experienced team of Music Therapists are Allied Health Professionals and all HCPC registered. Our Mission We support people who are disadvantaged through illness, disability, social isolation, trauma or suffering from mental health difficulties which make everyday life a challenge. Our work builds emotional resilience, increases self-esteem and connection with others, thereby strengthening relationships and enabling a better quality of life. We create improvised music with our clients using instruments and voices in a safe, therapeutic setting. No musical experience is necessary. This active music making allows clients to connect with their mind and body without the pressure to talk. Our therapists have a range of specialisms including neurological music therapy, vocal psychotherapy and music and mindfulness. During the pandemic we developed over 40 free video resources to support wellbeing through music, these are free to access on our website. Who do we work with? NHS, Education and Community Health We are keen to build partnerships with our local NHS, the education sector and community health organisations, whose service-users would benefit from our work. Music Therapy is a growing psychological intervention, supported by a robust evidence base. Some key areas of development are in treatment of anxiety, depression, dementia, stroke rehabilitation and autism. We work in schools, hospitals, day centres, care homes and private homes in Brighton and Hove and across Sussex. We also provide grant-funded music therapy and arts in health programmes for specific disadvantaged groups. Corporate Employee Wellbeing Why do organisations need our services? Music therapy is particularly effective in reducing feelings of stress and anxiety. Our services include both in person or online, individual or group sessions enabling your employees to access our service as and when they need it.
