About Behavioral Economics Research and Education (BERE) Lab

The Behavioral Economics Research and Education (BERE) Lab by Stephen Shu is an effort started in 2023 to partner on the applied practice of behavioral economics. BERE efforts are in support of science and the advancement of education. Research themes include exploratory work around the intersection of generative artificial intelligence (AI), behavioral economics, finance, and health. The lab consists of a mixture of alumni, graduate students, and undergraduate students. Stephen Shu is a Professor of Practice of Behavioral Economics at Cornell University, Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management. He has more than three decades of industry experience and is perhaps most recognized for helping to incubate some the very first behavioral economics initiatives around the world in the commercial sector. Stephen has a PhD in behavioral finance from City, University of London, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and both an MEng and BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.
