Organisation Overview
Beyond Vitiligo is an organisation established in 2011 in a bid to fight stigma on Vitiligo in
South African communities and beyond. The organisation was found and coined by Gaone
Petronella Tlhong.
This organisation was established through life experience of living with Vitiligo to assist
those with Vitiligo and those affected to accept this skin condition which is associated with
severe emotional trauma. It has been discovered that in the community people with Vitiligo are looked down upon and isolated by a community which lack knowledge of the condition.
BV is a registered Non-Profit organisation with a six directors who make it possible for the organisation to realise their mission. It’s a family made up of people living with Vitiligo and those affect with Vitiligo. We see beyond the skin colour towards acceptance of the skin condition.
