Bharat O2 is a social initiative to design and deploy oxygen concentrators that are simple, scalable, and built with locally available parts.
Covid-19 virus and its subsequent mutations are causing lung damage leading to respiratory distress which is being treated by medical oxygen. Oxygen concentrators (OC) supplement patients with medical oxygen, especially where oxygen cylinders and piped oxygen systems are unavailable.
The deadly 2nd wave of COVID-19 in India led to a surge in the need for medical oxygen, leading to a massive shortage of oxygen supply.
Thus, Oxygen concentrators and their components are being imported, which has lead to a significant increase in delivery timelines and product price.
Our mission is to solve India’s oxygen concentrator shortage problem through decentralized, community-driven, indigenous design innovations. These innovations are aimed to empower the community, be adopted by SME and manufacturers across India and globally, and mass-produce Oxygen
concentrators that are easily replicable, scalable to higher oxygen outflow, affordable by masses, and built with locally available parts.
