Bibnet is een projectorganisatie van de Vlaamse Overheid. Met Bibnet wil de Vlaamse Overheid er voor zorgen dat bibliotheken ook in een digitale omgeving een meerwaarde kunnen betekenen voor hun publiek. De Vlaamse Overheid neemt met dit initiatief rechtstreeks de verantwoordelijkheid op, voor de positionering van de Vlaamse openbare bibliotheken in de digitale wereld.
