The History of Science is full of taboos which over the centuries have been relentlessly proven wrong. “THE EARTH IS FLAT, AND IT IS THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE!” “THE MATTER IS INDIVISIBLE , AND IT IS MADE OF AIR, WATER, EARTH AND FIRE!” “THE UNIVERSE HAS ALWAYS EXISTED, AND IS IMMOBILE!” And it had to end on December 21, 2012 . Well, in 2012, Earth has undeterred continued its rotation , meanwhile a team of young entrepreneurs, embarked on a journey of design and challenging theirselves, as a result they introduced a new mean for strolling. Eclectic and stylish, debunked the technical belief that bicycle frames must be built with eight pipes with predetermined diameter, welded together with predetermined and unchageable angles. All this, without revolutionizing the classic frame, but with the hope of giving life to an innovative alternate, not only comfortably and ergonomically cyclable, but also technically correct and rational, especially with regards to industrial production: a concept in line with the theories of minimalism and functionalism typical of modern design. So, on December 24, 2011, from the worn walls of an old warehouse in the hinterland of Abruzzo, Italy, under a whipping heavy rain, after days of trying, thoughts and modifications, frame prototype was born, made of iron. The first intrusive and casual observer will call it “arrogant”, generating the full satisfaction of all members of the creative team. The large central tube was bent “gull-wing style”, three forks and three pieces made by turning (respectively: the barrel saddle, the steerer headset and the seat of bottom bracket) . It was a sort of baby bicycle, but with showy welds as if they were fair scars of a gladiator, the surface of raw iron wrinkled like that of a drowning man, and a haughty shape full of personality, who was just asking to be “dressed” by commercial components in order to start pedaling. Thus, from the newco Healtro Srl, the “Biciclettica® – Idee Cicli” brand -, was born a mark that matches the name of the first born model, produced in the Vintage version and in the White version. The arrogance of the newborn and her sisters’ (prototypes a few days younger, painted with different colors and dressed with temporary and low cost equipments), has been confirmed in the following months. In fact, cycling in the city center in the warm spring Sundays, with the aim of making road tests, Biciclettica® attracted the admiring and eager glances of passersby. The test drivers – Healtro partners, friends, relatives and various volunteers – after passing the admirer, felt distinctly their whisper: “I want it!”. It’s the beginning of the “Biciclettica® Effect”, an effect that, with the transition from prototype to final product, has pleasantly amplified, becoming, in fact, the corporate claim: Biciclettica® Effect: you see it, you want it!
