Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM) is the national institution for imparting capital market education, training, and conduct international standard research and publications in the relevant fields. The Institute is an entity of the Financial Institutions Division, Ministry of Finance, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. BICM is an affiliated institute of the University of Dhaka and offers the first and only specialized master's program on applied finance and capital market.
BICM is located at the heart of Capital City Dhaka in the vicinity of Financial District of Motijheel, and adjacent to the Metro Rail Station, Bangladesh Secretariat Stoppage.
BICM aims to equip the stakeholders of the nation’s capital market with updated knowledge about the capital market through a number of delivery outlets viz. Investor’s Education Program, training on specialized topics like Technical Analysis, Equity Valuation, Portfolio Management, Securities Laws, Commodities Trading, Financial Derivatives, Mutual Funds, etc., a one-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Capital Market (PGDCM), and the 2-year Master of Applied Finance and Capital Market (MAFCM), which is one of its kind.
BICM has a dedicated pool of qualified faculty members, some with terminal degrees from reputed institutes abroad. The institute has a rich library with 12,000+ original titles on finance, accounting, economics, business law, mathematics, statistics, IT etc.
BICM engages in academic as well as policy research to impact the growth and trigger policy directions towards the development of the nation’s capital market. The Journal of Financial Markets and Governance (JFMG) is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal published half-yearly by the institute. The monthly ‘Financial Market Review’ focuses on the current economic trends, the financial market, and insights into contemporary issues.
