Bind-X is an established production company in the industrial biotechnology sector that uses biological binding of materials to decarbonise various industries while enhancing their profitability. Established with the vision of supporting mines to use less water and operate more sustainably, Bind-X specialises in developing and producing biological binders for dust control and road stabilisation on mine sites. Currently, 70% of mines worldwide use water for dust suppression. Bind-X's new and proven biological dust control technology can reduce water usage by more than 90% while enhancing road quality and supporting decarbonisation efforts. The technology uses biocementation, a natural process that turns sand into stone, creating a thick and solid layer on the soil. This method is entirely non-toxic for people, plants and waterways, offering significant advantages over traditional dust suppression methods that rely heavily on water, salts, polymers or bitumen blends that are not environmentally safe. Biological dust control is not only beneficial for the environment but also provides substantial cost savings for mining companies by reducing mine rehabilitation costs and operational expenses all while enhancing productivity. With its Terrabind product portfolio, Bind-X currently offers five different patented formulations tailored to mine specific uses cases and climatic conditions. The formulations are designed to stabilise high traffic haulage roads, suppress dust on secondary and access roads, or to prevent erosion and material loss from tailings storage facilities and stockpiles. With Terrabind Ultimate, Bind-X offers the only wet-stable biological dust control product on the market, a proven alternative to crude-oil based bitumen blends.
