BioDye is a newly formed biotech company specializing in affordable near-IR BODIPY® fluorescent dyes. Applications of many of our products focus on live cell bio-imaging but also may be used to advance research associated with Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLEDs) and Dye Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs).
BioDye’s product line includes nearly 100 BODIPY® dyes. These dyes span the visible-NIR spectral region with intense molar absorbtivities ranging from 70,000 to as high as 200,000. Quantum yields of these dyes are in many cases near unity even in the NIR region of the spectrum. Additional properties of our BODIPY® dyes include:
-Photostability in a variety of solvents
-Both pH insensitive dyes and dyes capable of detecting pH
-Relatively long excited sate lifetimes
-Specialized dyes capable of populating the triplet excited state
-Little to no spectral overlap with longer-wavelength dyes making them ideal for multi-color applications
-Design for covalent linking to proteins and antibodies
We also offer customized synthesis to meet your research needs.
In addition to our BODIPY® line of products BioDye offers a variety of lanthanide complexes, specialized porphyrin and metallo-porphyrin compounds.
