About Bioinformatics Research Group
BYU's Bioinformatics Research Group (BRG) is a club of students committed to learning about and performing bioinformatics research, helping each other develop data science skills through mentoring, connecting with bioinformatics in the real world, and publishing academic scientific content. The BRG is made up of undergraduates and is wholly led by student volunteers, under the supervision of its faculty mentor Dr. Stephen Piccolo. Our club has been meeting since 2012 and in recent years has refocused on the purpose of producing quality research by participating in online open-source challenges. For any questions about what our club is doing now, meeting times, and how to join, send us an email at byubrg@gmail.com. To learn about current and past research projects or find out about current club members, check out our website at brg.byu.edu.
