Biometeors provide affordable, convenient, and accurate solutions for managing UV and sunlight exposure. Focusing on UV and sunlight exposure, skin cancer is already the most prevalent form of cancer in many countries, and the incidence rate is still on the rise. Almost 95% of skin cancer cases are attributable to UV exposure, and yet there is currently no affordable, convenient and accurate solution for tracking UV exposure. We will solve this problem through our mobile app. Our mobile app combines the accuracy of a wearable device with the affordability of a smartphone app to provide users with UV exposure information. It will track and record daily UV exposure, along with usual fitness app functionalities. We will help users compare their commuting and running routes to avoid over exposure to the harmful solar radiation. We will also send users customized notifications to remind them to put on sunscreen or to re-purchase their favorite sun-care product. We are able to measure sunlight and UV radiation down to every 10m in large cities at any time. We go beyond what regular weather apps can provide by calculating how shade from surrounding trees and buildings affect your UV exposure on your trajectory outdoors. Our method is highly scalable and we are also confident that our cutting-edge method is unique in combining state-of-the-art deep learning techniques with geophysical science to estimate accurate UV exposure.
