BioNa

BioNa is a DTU project to spinout developing high-performance, bio-based anode materials for sodium-ion batteries (SIB), using agricultural waste as feedstock. Our hard carbon anodes are designed for grid storage, commercial renewables, and next-gen SIB applications where safety, cost, and material availability matter most. Compared to fossil-based anodes, our solution reduces CO₂ emissions by ~30%, maintains >300 mAh/g performance, and strengthens Europe’s battery supply chain. Made in close collaboration with DTU Energy and European battery manufacturers, our process is optimized for sustainability, scalability, and real-world use.
