With more than 4,922 one-to-one meetings, 29% participation from foreign companies, and a program featuring over 60 sessions, BIOSPAIN has earned a prominent place among the leading European events in the biotechnology sector and is undoubtedly the top event organized by biotechnology associations in Europe. BIOSPAIN 2023 brought together 1,700 registered participants (2,269 attendees) from 997 organizations across 34 countries. With these figures, BIOSPAIN not only consolidates its participation numbers but also increases them compared to previous editions. In fact, the 4,922 partnering meetings held during this eleventh edition represent a 33% increase compared to the previous edition—an ideal setting that enabled 88% of attendees to identify real business opportunities. Regarding the partnering system, it was positively rated by 82% of attendees, with 39% expecting that more than 40% of these meetings laid the groundwork for future engagements. Additionally, the number of investors attending the congress increased to 81, demonstrating a growing interest among professionals in seeking investment opportunities in Spain. Thus, BIOSPAIN has become a platform for driving the next generation of startups, with nearly 5,000 one-to-one meetings and over 30 startup presentations delivered to investors. Over the three days of the congress, the biotechnology sector positioned itself as a driving force behind the new healthcare model and a key element in achieving Spain and Europe's strategic autonomy in areas such as the economy, health, sustainable food, and the green transition, among others.
