Biotechflow Ltd was founded in 2010, a company specialising in the original design, manufacture, installation, and validation of Expanded Bed Adsorption Chromatography (EBA) columns and accessories (as well as other novel solutions) for cGMP biopharmaceutical downstream processing.
We enable our clients to scale up from laboratory to commercial scale production of mAb’s and other therapeutic biopharmaceuticals. This is enabled by the seamless transfer of unclarified biomass directly from bioreactor into the patented single column (EBA). The Biotechflow (BTF) Expanded Bed Adsorption Chromatography (EBA) column is fed directly from the bioreactor with unclarified and undiluted biomass.
The BTF EBA process negates the need for clarification, centrifugation, filtration, dilution, intermediate storage, packing to HETP and Af approved standard.

For 60 years the industrial-scale production of drugs and pharmaceuticals has depended upon multiple clarification steps essential to using Packed Bed columns.
The alternative - Expanded Bed Adsorption technology - has been redesigned by Biotechflow (BTF-EBA) which has produced enormous improvements in efficiency, simplicity, and cost.
BTF EBA is a type of fluidised bed whereby the inlet and outlet flow profile is designed to give sharper peaks.
The beads are free flowing over large volumes which allows air and insoluble debris through which prevents – no meshes.
