BioTrib is a EU funded European Training Network (ETN) comprising 5 Beneficiaries from the UK, Sweden and Switzerland together with 11 partners from across the globe including organisations in Australia and China as well as Europe. The research focus for BioTrib is biotribology that is the friction, lubrication and wear in natural and artificial joints. The 15 Early Stage Researcher (ESR) projects reflect this expansive domain reflecting both the underpinning fundamental engineering science and the application through the incorporation of new materials, techniques and assessment methodologies. The ETN also provides a comprehensive set of training activities based on Network Wide Events (Workshops, Conferences etc), local host training and ‘on-the-job’ as they undertake research for their PhDs.
