Our mission is to disrupt how people think… The modern urban environment has engendered a growing disconnect between human daily life and the natural world. Natural ecosystems have become expendable instead of being recognised as providing basic human and social needs. This high rate of metabolism within our urban ecosystems has strained the Earth’s carrying capacity to support life; the very existence of future generations is now at risk. To restore intergenerational equity, our urban environments must become regenerative by mimicking the circular metabolisms of the natural world. This will gradually decouple economic activity from the consumption of fossil fuels and natural resources, by reshaping our way of living with an emphasis on eliminating waste and pollution. The vision for BioUrban is focused on just one thing – REGENERATION. As net zero emissions are a stepping stone to a regenerative society, it is from here we will start.
