Charles Birch Ltd was established in 1965 and incorporated in 1974 by Eric Wilson in Leeds. The company was principally supplying shoe repair and shoe shops with all their sundry and component requirements.
Fast forward to 2020 and Charles Birch Ltd has become one of Europe’s largest suppliers to the retail shoe and shoe repair markets as well as general retailers including hardware stores, sports shops and chemists. The company is still privately owned and run by the founder’s son Chris Wilson. It continues to run from Leeds, West Yorkshire as well as from their southern based warehouse in Rochford, Essex.
With the national shortage of alcohol-based hand sanitisers at the start of the Covid-19 crisis, Charles Birch Ltd developed its own brand of gels. “Most of the products on the market at the time seemed to really dry out the skin after frequent use leaving hands chapped and sore” said Chris Wilson, “so we went out of our way to design a product with Aloe Vera extract to preserve the softness and moisture of the hands whilst being effective in killing 99.99% of bacteria, germs and viruses including Covid-19”.
The new Birch Hand Sanitiser was an instant success being taken in bulk by councils and large businesses as well as small independent retailers. With this new website this product is now available to everyone in four container sizes: jeans/trouser pocket size 30ml, coat pocket, handbag and car size 100ml, household and office 250ml and the large 500ml for larger homes, offices, shops and factories.
The 100ml, 250ml and 500ml sizes are all pump action for ease of use and minimum spillage.
By popular demand, Charles Birch have added the large heavy duty Birch Anti Bacteria wipes in re-sealable packs of 100 and the highly acclaimed TRG and Nanex anti-virus cleaners as well as a small selection of face masks.
