Biruwa

Biruwa is a dynamic women-led network committed to fostering critical thinking, amplifying voices for climate justice, and promoting sustainable awareness in every facet of life. Through our initiatives, we strive to challenge conventional norms, inspire meaningful conversations, and empower communities to question, reflect, and act on the pressing environmental issues of our time. Our purpose is to seek answers to “why?” and inspire others to ask “why?” We strive to uncover solutions to issues of climate injustice and the governance that shapes our lives. We aim to cultivate a well-informed society that is deeply aware of climate justice and governance by developing questioning abilities, raising awareness, and bridging the gap between stakeholders and communities. Biruwa has a Biruwa Think Tank through which we invite individuals who are passionate about being part of this initiative to work on developing white papers, educational materials and conducting awareness campaigns. Together, we engage in research and collaboration to drive our mission forward. Biruwa also has a podcast series, "Guffai ta Ho Ni" where we talk about the topics that need our attention: climate justice, governance, and the everyday challenges of climate change. We scratch the surface to uncover who's behind these issues and what we can do about them.
