BL MedTech Society

The 'MedTech' industry is huge, ranging from virtual reality and augmented reality for use in surgical education to wearables for the remote monitoring of disease activity. Currently, this industry is among the fastest-growing in the world (estimated at $40+ billion as of last year) and big-hitters such as Google and Samsung desperately investing in the sector. With the emergence of new technologies such as AI and data science, the potential of medical technology grows at an exponential rate and will revolutionise healthcare over the coming decades. BL MedTech Society is the central student hub for MedTech (the application of technologies within healthcare, ranging from digital health to bioengineering) at QMUL and Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry. We provide a platform where like-minded people can meet, collaborate and also learn more about medical entrepreneurship and innovation. Through our extended network with other university societies and companies, forming the larger organisation, MedTech STUDENT, we provide an even richer experience for our members. Activities include conferences, evening events with distinguished speakers, workshops and socials. Whatever your academic background, you are welcome to join our society!
