We are a family owned craft rum distillery, located in Lyme Regis. Frustrated with the swathes of "spiced rum" options and lack of a good British "sipping" rum, John Tucker set out to put this right.
Black Ven's rum is a wonderful spirit made from the finest baker's molasses and we would classify the style as modern French caribbean. Brown spirit lovers (whisky, bourbon etc) particular appreciate Black Ven Rum, because the sweetness is natural from the distillation process. We don't add sugar to the finished product. We use French oak which is toasted to perfection to result in favours of caramel, toffee, vanilla & coffee.
Black Ven rum is very small batch - around 200 bottles at a time. We dilute the finished product to 50% abv which makes it perfect as an after dinner drink, or as an accompaniment to a bottle of beer after a long week of work. It also contributes towards a particularly fine "rude boy" cocktail!
