Blackcomb Engineering provides specialized engineering services for amusement rides and other complex structures. We provide professional engineering services to ride manufacturers and construction contractors. We work with our clients to achieve the best results for their projects by utilizing our expertise in design, fabrication and installation of rides and other complex structures. We currently hold Professional Engineering designations in British Columbia as well as California, Kentucky and Washington states. Our core services include: Design & Structural Engineering of Amusement Rides: - Concept and Detail engineering of various amusement ride structures. - Structural design and analysis amusement ride structures. - Finite element analysis (FEA). - Generation of spline geometry for new coasters as well as smoothing and modifications to existing track. - Fatigue evaluation of connections and details for steel structures per EN1993-1-9, DIN and AISC. - Independent Design Reviews. - Review and PE/P.Eng certification of ride systems. - Installation Procedures. - Site inspection and reviews. Construction Engineering: - Staged construction analyses of complex structures such as telescope enclosures and bridges. - Conceptual and detailed construction schemes. Detailed lifting plans and crane layouts. - Crane stability and ground pressure checks. - Design & certification of falsework/shoring structures, custom lifting equipment and jacking frames. - Strength evaluation and rating of existing falsework and lifting devices.
