About BiAM: Blacks in Additive Manufacturing (BiAM) is a non-profit organization with a steadfast dedication to promoting, supporting, and inspiring diverse individuals within the realm of Additive Manufacturing (AM) and Additive Manufacturing Technology. BiAM's primary objective is to elevate the presence of minority communities in AM, thus fostering awareness, participation, and ownership within this innovative industry. Mission: Our mission at BiAM is clear and purposeful: to amplify the engagement of the Black community in Additive Manufacturing. Through strategic initiatives, collaboration, and a commitment to inclusion, we aim to bridge the existing gaps and create a vibrant, inclusive landscape within AM. Purpose: BiAM stands as a crucial bridge. Our purpose is to connect the underrepresented talents, ideas, and voices within the Black community to the promising horizon of Additive Manufacturing. By breaking barriers and fostering equal opportunities, we strive to make a lasting impact on both the AM industry and its diverse contributors. Goal: Our goal is threefold and encapsulates a vision of true parity: Nurture Academic Excellence: Ensure that a significant percentage of Black Ph.D. students transition to academia as professors, enriching educational and innovative landscapes. Promote Professional Representation: Achieve a substantial 50% representation of Black professionals within the Additive Manufacturing industry, fostering diversity and innovation at all levels. Foster Awareness and Participation: Increase awareness and participation of the Black community in Additive Manufacturing initiatives and businesses.
