Blakeley’s offers true recycling and diversion from landfill to its customers, and our recycling facility is able to separate mixed recyclable materials to industry leading standards. Residual waste is diverted from landfill by export to Europe for use in energy recovery incinerators, whilst food is collected separately and treated through Anaerobic Digestion to create gas to be used in the national grid. Glass is also collected separately and used to create more recycled glass.
The company continues to advance and has now developed a computer-based routing and management system for its waste collection operation, which enables live tracking and reporting of all waste collections. The utilisation of technology keeps Blakeley’s at the forefront of waste collection and recycling in the UK.
