Blankens is an independent company, for women by women. It all started in Sweden in 2014 when we wanted to create the perfect shoes and leather products to complement the wardrobes of women everywhere. We knew that there were some compromises we never wanted to make: The products should be great in more ways than how they look – the fit, what they are made of and how they are made are equally important. We also stand firm in our belief that good design should be affordable.
We are your one-stop shoe shop with everything from walkable boots and flats to heels and summery sandals. All our styles are designed to last – we (proudly) don’t adhere to fast fashion and trends that disappear as soon as they appear. Blankens shoes are made to stand the test of time. Our products are classic but never boring, made from high quality materials that ensure that they will last through the years.
By keeping our production close we reduce the negative impact of shipping. All our products are manufactured in Portugal, a country with a rich history of craftsmanship and shoe design. We collaborate with a handful of small factories, all powered by 100 percent renewable energy and all our products are made under strict European environmental regulations, by skilled craftsmen and women.
Our materials are sourced in Europe, and the chrome-free leathers are tanned in the EU. We also use other sustainable materials such as vegetable tanned leather, eco-leather and alternative materials made from recycled plastic. The business of production is ever-changing along with new sustainable solutions being invented and implemented. We are dedicated to always improve and adapt to ensure that both our production and our business model are sustainable.
