This is an extremely difficult question for anyone to answer, especially Black and Brown Youth. Black people, in particular, account for about 12% of the U.S. population but occupy only 3.2% of the senior leadership roles at large companies in the U.S. and just 0.8% of all Fortune 500 CEO positions. Meanwhile, Black and Brown people make up 76.2% of the NBA and 47% of Billboard's top 100 artists of 2019.
Knowledge might be power, but role models inspire, and Black and Brown youths do not see themselves represented in the professional world.
We here at the #BlackProfessionals Project share the stories of Black and Brown professionals with Black and Brown Youths across the globe. We partner with other non-profits around the world to help share these journeys with Black and Brown youths everywhere.
