BlockBar was launched in October 2021 by cousins Dov and Sam, who are an active part of the family-owned Falic Group, a network founded in 2001 that today comprises over 50 businesses. One of the Falic Group companies is Duty Free Americas, which has over $2 billion in annual sales and is the largest duty-free operation in the Western Hemisphere.
In 2023, the team recruited Jamie Ritchie as COO. He joined BlockBar after a 32 year career leading Sotheby’s, as Worldwide Chairman of Sotheby’s Wine & Spirits.
