Blue Jay, a budding chain of affordable and comfortable stays, was founded in June 2018 and set up at the foothills of the Indian Himalayas to redefine the concept of backpacker hostels in India. The establishment is named after the native North American bird Blue Jay, a free-spirited migratory bird who embodies exploration and travel.
Blue Jay provides social spaces where travelers from all over the world stay and meet. A home away from home, where they relax, chat, read books, interact with each other- a place where they spend a great time. It is not just another addition to the emerging backpacking trend in India, but a completely new idea in which we focus on not only improving the guest experience, but also integrating important aspects such as responsible and constructive tourism into our company's goals and culture. Built as part of Golden Oaks' responsible tourism campaign to establish plastic-free accommodation in India, Blue Jay has played a key role in refining the current tourism landscape in Rishikesh.
Recognized in the top 10% of hotels worldwide and awarded the 2020 Travel Award of the Year by TripAdvisor, Blue Jay has set a good example and created a new mark in the hospitality industry. All exemplary achievements are the result of Blue Jay's happy work culture and the hard work and creativity of its team. The fundamentals were very clear and precise from the start and focused on three main indicators.
