Today, Blue Ocean Live operates a portfolio of businesses that include: concert production and touring, talent management, music publishing, Guerrilla marketing, talent buying, consulting, and private aviation logistics all dedicated to creating oceans of value for all parties involved. Blue Ocean Live was launched in 2005, by a group of Indiana University business students who sought to produce a large and varied, nationwide network of large-scale hip/hop concerts targeting U.S. college campuses. With a knack for strategically locating these productions in “non-convention” or “invisible venues”, Blue Ocean was there to fulfill the need for the high-impact concert that anyone could afford, while traditional brick and mortar venues were struggling to fill seats in a tough economy and saddled with bulky fixed cost structures. “It was while navigating these un-charted waters, that we fully realized the enormous potential of guerrilla marketing to the untapped nationwide bazaar of college campuses for artists of other genres, our corporate partners, major record labels, and philanthropic organizations.” To keep up with a growing demand from clients and to maximize value within all of its businesses Blue Ocean launched a private aviation logistics division in 2009.
