Blue Shield Germany

Blue Shield Germany is a registered, non-profit association located in Berlin which advocates the protection of tangible and intangible cultural heritage during times of crisis. Its particular focus is the field of cultural property protection during armed conflict, disasters and other major emergencies. The association's aim is the establishment of an expert network that will unite national actors in the fields of heritage conservation and disaster & risk management, and to connect them with the international sphere, to serve as a communication platform as well as advisor for partners and decision-makers involved in the national and international decision-making processes. In the context of this network, we - the members of Blue Shield Germany - want to support the regional, national and international activities for cultural property protection and to strengthen their ability to react in times of conflict and peace.
