Blue Ventures supports coastal communities to thrive by rebuilding fisheries and protecting ocean life. We believe the people who live closest to marine ecosystems are not just victims of the ocean crisis; they are the key to its resolution. Working across tropical coastlines with 225+ million people who depend on small-scale fisheries, we champion community-led conservation that recognizes local agency, knowledge, and potential. Our approach moves beyond top-down solutions to empower communities as stewards of their marine resources. Through initiatives like Transform Bottom Trawling (transformbottomtrawling.org) and our growing network of 400 civil society organizations, we're catalysing a global movement. We provide funding, data tools, training, and advocacy support to amplify community voices and shift national policies from exclusion to empowerment.
