Blue Engine Wash

We are creating an express tunnel car wash brand that not only provides an incredible wash to your car, but also has a mission to change the stats on employment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). In 2020, less than 18% of people with disabilities were employed, down from 19.3% in 2019. We don't think this is OK - so we are doing something about it by hiring individuals with IDD as our workforce. Our goal is to expand to multiple locations so we can hire as many individuals with IDD as possible, showing that profits and purpose are not in competition and social impact has a very real place in any industry. As the parents of young children, we (and our name) are inspired by one of our children's favorite stories - The Little Engine That Could. At its core it is about strength, determination, perspective and optimism. All of which are important in creating a successful business, and equally important in creating an inclusive community that helps everyone get to the top. We deeply believe that a strong and prosperous community comes from letting anyone with the "I think I can" attitude have a chance to climb their path.
