Bluetide Aquaculture

BlueTide Aquaculture Limited is combining traditional backyard business based on partnerships and modern technological innovation to restore the culturally iconic Toheroa through aquaculture. Our mission is to see the Toheroa thrive in our waters once more, by driving restoration we aim to provide our own and the world with a true taste of Aotearoa, all whilst tilting the balance of our pristine whenua back in the blue. Our journey started at the University of Waikato in 2019 and have recently completed Callaghan Innovation's 2019/2020 C-Prize incubator programme as finalists. Through significant support from Callaghan, the Sustainable Seas Fund & Soda Inc, we are working hard to create a brighter future for New Zealand's blue economy. To ensure our Kaupapa succeeds we have partnered with Te Roroa and the University of Waikato to transform our shared vision into a reality. Our partnerships are the cornerstone of BlueTides organisation, collectively we are excited to share our story and journey with the world.
