Blutopia

Blutopia is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to reinvent the way we eat to preserve the ocean. Our actions are based on 3 pillars: - Inspire: we make documentaries to change the collective imagination and help new, more desirable narratives to emerge - Educate: we create educational tools and the ondine podcast to provide more knowledge about the issues surrounding food and the ocean - Act: we write recipe books and organise culinary workshops to facilitate the transition to a more plant-based diet Why link food and the ocean? - The ocean is a source of wonder, but above all it is vital to the survival of all marine and terrestrial species and to the climate. Without it, the average temperature would be 50°C. - Our boundless appetite is destroying living things. The food we eat alone emits 2.45TB of CO2 per person per year, making it the 2nd largest single sector in France. - 90% of fish stocks are fully exploited or overexploited. Overexploitation of resources is the number one threat to marine biodiversity. Blutopia's key figures: - 3,800 subscribers to the Lettre d'ondine, Blutopia's monthly newsletter, who keep informed so they can take action - 200 members who believe in sustainable, tasty food - 15 ambassadors trained in Blutopia's tools who roll out actions in their area - 25,000 beneficiaries have benefited from Blutopia's various face-to-face tools - 5 employees who coordinate and run all the association's projects
