BM Morrison Partners was founded in February 1992 and became the first private law firm in the Republic of Azerbaijan independent, as of October 1991, from the USSR.
Presently, the Firm has ten legal professionals, including three partners, and other fee-earners. We are fluent in the Azerbaijani, English, and Russian languages and have command of other languages, such as the French and Arabic.
Five of our lawyers are members of the Azerbaijani Bar Association.
The Firm advises and is capable to discharge work on all matters of Azerbaijani law in most industries active in Azerbaijan. Specifically, we advise on corporate law (registration of entities, changes of registered information, and acquisitions, reorganisations, and terminations), employment and labour law, including labour inspections, contract law (drafting and advice on and during implementation and enforcement, including remedies), migration law, including obtaining work and residence permits, intellectual property (IP, registration of trademarks and general advice), and tax and customs laws.
We are experienced in many industries and are familiar with the issues under commercial agreements applicable within each.
Most our lawyers have completed or currently pursue legal degree and non-degree studies both in Azerbaijan and outside, including those for industry lawyers. Many lawyers of the Firm have experience practicing as lawyers in jurisdictions outside Azerbaijan with international law firms.
