Our mission as the Biomedical Engineering Society at UC Irvine is to foster an inclusive community for students interested in biomedical engineering through mentorship, career building, project experience, and outreach events for professional development and education.
The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Irvine, was founded in 2002. Since then, the Biomedical Engineering Society at UC Irvine (BMES) has evolved into an organization on campus open to all students, but geared towards preparing those pursuing a degree in the field of biomedical engineering. We host many events throughout the year, teaching undergraduate students how to network out to industries, how to pursue undergraduate research, and how to become more involved socially and academically as well. We aim to provide an environment where a well-rounded engineering student can enjoy their undergraduate experience at UCI, while maintaining and forming goals for their future.
