B&R Beurs, the student investment society at Erasmus University Rotterdam, is dedicated to educating members about investing. Through our B&R Beurs Academy, led by experienced members and guest lecturers, newcomers delve into the financial world. Additional learning opportunities include readings, workshops, classes, guest speakers, and company visits, culminating in the coveted B&R Beurs Investor Certificate. The Flow Traders Investment Competition, where real money is invested in groups of twelve to thirty-five students, is a highlight, with each member contributing between €200 and €400. Alongside our core investment activities, we offer a range of enjoyable events such as social gatherings, poker tournaments, city trips, and tastings.
Our diverse membership includes near-professional investors and those with a basic interest in investing, representing various disciplines including economics, finance, business administration, law, and public administration. Regardless of background, members find ample opportunities for engagement, idea-sharing, and learning within our community.
Upon joining B&R Beurs, members can expect a vibrant calendar of events, starting with introductory drinks and the Introduction Weekend in September, where new and existing members bond. October sees group formation dinners before investment activities commence in November. Throughout the year, our B&R Beurs Academies cover fundamental investing principles before delving into advanced topics, ensuring members stay informed with the latest knowledge from industry experts.
In addition to social and educational events, investment groups meet regularly, fostering collaboration and learning. B&R Beurs provides a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in investing, offering an experience unmatched by other associations or courses at Erasmus University. The combination of the Investment Competition and passionate members creates a dynamic atmosphere within the society.
