Started in 1987 by world-renowned chef Paul Bocuse, the Bocuse d’Or was the first live cooking competition of its nature, putting Chefs whose work and skill had previously been behind the scenes on the centre stage with a live audience watching their creations come to life.
The competition has grown enormously over the past three decades to be so-called ‘The Olympics for Chefs’, referencing the enormous impact that the competition has on future food trends across the globe and is televised live in certain countries.
