Bokashi

As a specialist of Japanese art, concentrated on Japanese woodblock prints, I am available for projects within the cultural field. I have over nine years of curatorial experience, including: researching, compiling and writing publications; developing and producing (international) exhibitions; creating and maintaining databases; collection building, management and preservation; organising cultural activities; hosting lectures and workshops. Bokashi means gradation and is a technique seen in Japanese woodblock prints. The technique is often applied to recreate the natural gradient found in the changing colours of the sky. Bokashi is eye catching and a beautiful highlight of Japanese prints, found in traditional ukiyo-e as well as 20th century hanga.
