Bold Sobriety Podcast

Bold Sobriety is an upcoming podcast that explores addiction, trauma, and mental health through a holistic lens—integrating the spirit, body, emotions, and mind. We'll speak with leading experts to unpack how scientific advancements are reshaping our understanding of addiction and recovery. And while science provides crucial insights, it cannot fully explain why some individuals recover while others continue to struggle. We will also explore the intangible aspect of recovery—the spiritual journey. Trauma and addiction fundamentally alters our sense of self, leaving lasting changes in the brain and nervous system. Yet, addiction and mental health challenges are too often still viewed through a moral lens, rather than a biological one. Trauma breeds guilt, guilt feeds shame, and shame rewrites our internal narratives—convincing us that we’re broken, unworthy, or beyond help. In response, many of us turn to drinking, drugs, gambling, food, sex, the internet, social media - you name it - to escape painful pasts and feelings, robbing us of our dignity and humanity. And so the cycle goes until we heal it. A bit about me: I'm a mom, an entrepreneur, a volunteer, and a joyful participant in life. I’m also a stage 4 cancer survivor and a recovering alcoholic with seven years of sobriety (though really, it’s one day at a time). I’m also a trauma survivor, and I’ve built a personal toolbox that’s helped me stay grounded, sober, and connected to peace and joy. I want to help others build their own.
