The Bolu Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established in 1926 under Law No. 665, acting as the legal representative of merchants and industrialists in Bolu. Although, at that time, the region lacked a proper umbrella organization for trade and industry, the need to regulate and supervise the utilization of abundant forest resources and minerals led to the creation of chambers across the country, laying the foundation for the establishment of the Bolu Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In 1952, the Chamber's activities were suspended for various reasons, and unfortunately, all records from this period were lost. In 1959, based on Law No. 5590, and upon the written requests of 268 merchants and industrialists, the Ministry of Commerce granted permission to resume activities on June 27, 1959, with the approval of the Internal Trade General Directorate’s Chambers and Exchanges branch.
Our Chamber operates as a professional organization with public institution status, in accordance with the Law on the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, which came into effect on June 1, 2004. The Chamber carries out the duties specified in Article 12 of the said Law.
The Chamber’s area of activity includes the central district of Bolu, along with the districts of Dörtdivan, Göynük, Kıbrıscık, Mengen, Mudurnu, Seben, and Yeniçağa. As of June 2025, the number of active registered members is approximately 4,400. Members are categorized into 15 occupational groups according to their fields of activity and the international NACE coding system. Based on the number of members in each group, the Chamber has formed 15 Vocational Committees, a 41-member Chamber Assembly, an 11-member Board of Directors, and a 6-member Disciplinary Board, which are legal organs as per Law No. 5174.
