A brainchild of former I-League head coach and NFL Best Coach Award recipient Bimal Ghosh, the project was incepted after spotting a few gaps in the Mumbai football environment, which are as follows: - Most academies making their players train on 5/6/7 a side pitches - Not enough football clubs of a reasonable standard in the city - Questionable training and coaching standards - Lack of outstation tournament exposures for Mumbai based players Bombay Heroes, are in partnership with Wings Sports Arena, where we use their phenomenal 11-a-side grass training facility which is situated in the upmarket Bandra area of Mumbai. We run teams right from Under 8 all the way to Senior Teams for both males and females. The coaching staff include a former I-League head coach, AFC B certified former professional footballer, AFC C certified coach who is a veteran in Navi Mumbai football, a UEFA C certified coach and the management staff include seasoned well-known officials who are known for their contribution to Mumbai football. Since the disbanding and non-participation of I-League and I-League 2nd Division clubs like Orkay, Maffatlal, Mahindra United, Air India, ONGC, Kenkre and PIFA, the city lacks a serious pathway for ambitious footballers to look at to find the motivation to make football their profession. We strive to become a top club in both Mumbai and India, in order to be that platform for Mumbai based footballers. Our key founder Mr. Bimal Ghosh has nurtured over 30 players who have made it from obscurity to the main Indian national team and a plethora of others who have made a career for themselves in professional football in the Indian Super League, I-League, state and district teams. Our short term goal is to become the best academy in the state of Maharashtra through our quality of training and coaching, facilities, opportunities for players. The long term goal is to become an I-League club once we finalize our sponsorship deal.
