With NETFLIX securing Albuquerque Studios as part of a plan to bring as much as $1 billion in production to New Mexico over the next 10 years, we are poised to become one the dominate film locations in the United States. Las Cruces, NM is the 2nd largest city in the state, with one successful film studio and another one in the process, we are building our base as part of the film industry locally and nationwide. With an average of 294 days of sun annually and the addition to 5% on top of the already amazing state tax rebates for film, Las Cruces is truly a desirable location to film. The 3rd annual Borderscene Film Festival is a celebration featuring 3 days of high-quality independent film in the majestic Southwestern town of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Bringing the best films to New Mexico from around the world, with an emphasis on US Military-produced projects, and providing a rich educational opportunity to professional filmmakers and the general public alike through its on-site workshops and panel discussions. Putting filmmakers first is the key to making this the best festival experience in the southwest. Accepted films receive one night of lodging and access to meals, multiple after parties and networking activities. We treat the filmmakers as the stars! The Borderscene Film Festival’s mission is to connect independent filmmakers with industry professionals by providing a positive film event, inspiring filmmakers without those direct film industry connections. We make that connection for you! What this means is the Borderscene Film Festival will provide opportunities for independent film professionals at every level to participate, learn, network, and even get their films distributed!
