Boss Toro Electromotive SA for was formed in August, 2010 in Spain by a private equity partnership. In January of 2011, the first prototype of its smart phone controlled electric cylinder as a direct replacement for petroleum based hydraulic actuators was demonstrated on 29 February 2013. The first commercial products were announced on July 15, 2014 as the "One Tuff Lift", "One Tuff Lift Pro" and the One Tuff Lift Industrial.
