BoxChain Associates Ltd was founded in 2019 and has already worked with clients such as GXO and Wilko as well as smaller clients. The company is led by Mark Leonard who has over 30 years experience in the Logistics and Supply Chain sector and who has worked across Europe in senior Exec and Board roles. BoxChain supports clients in both the development of strategy and its implementation as well as in helping to improve existing processes to increase performance and reduce costs. At Wilko BoxChain supported the development of a business case for £60m investment aimed at transforming its logistics operation. It then helped Wilko implement the change which was significant in terms of its people, systems and infrastructure. In short executing a redevelopment of its warehouses (in a live environment), procuring a new warehouse management system (WMS) and implementing it and negotiating new terms and conditions for its workforce. This involved an all encompassing change plan which BoxChain were well positioned to support. Mark Leonard supported the senior team in ensuring governance for the programme was good and BoxChain placed a number of Associates who specifically focused on developing a new Logistics Model and working with the Wilko team in defining new processes to support the WMS implementation. For GXO (formerly XPO) BoxChain have been integral in supporting with the implementation of a heavily automated warehouse in Poland. This has involved supplying experienced Programme Management able to working extensively with both the client (a fashion retailer), the automation supplier and the new Ops team in the new build.
