The Boyne Rivers Trust was set up in October 2021 to contribute to the conservation and protection of the Boyne catchment.
Sadly like many of Ireland's waterways, the 3rd cycle of the river basin management plan has identified that 79 waterbodies within the Boyne Catchment are in moderate or poor water quality status, and only 65 in good or high status.
Our aim is to work collaboratively to reverse the decline in water quality and enhance and restore habitats and biodiversity along the Boyne catchment.
We are a small volunteer led organisation working with local communities to develop projects to help the rivers in the catchment thrive once again.
We are an active member of the Rivers Trusts movement in Ireland, which currently has 19 Rivers Trusts working to protect the rivers of Ireland.
