BQFF is committed to inspiring and educating both the queer community and the world at large about the significance of queer culinary heritage and its indelible impact on America's rich and storied gastronomic landscape. We strive to honor the past, champion the present, and pace the way to a fututre that increases visibility and security for the queer culinary community. Our mission is to elevate and celebrate world-renowned and locally based queer chefs, tastemakers, and food purveyors. We will build on the legacies of luminaries such as James Beard, Craig Clairborne, and Elka Gilmore. By coming together to break break and celebrate the many ways food connects us, we choose to honor the often unknown and frequently unsung role of the queer community in shaping culture through cuisine.
